The Hair: Beautiful Grotesque

Hair used to be a restriction to me. In China, local schools required girls to follow certain hairstyle rules. For example, hair can never be put down when going to school, and bangs need to be 1cm above eyebrows. It's either short hair that is same height as ear lobes, or pony tails. There was even one school I went to have all the girls cut their hair to a short bob. So for a long time, I hate looking at my hairs in the mirror. I thought all the rules about hair are stupid.
Hair to me is part of both my body and my identity, just like how I think about fashion. And as part of self-identity, I think it should be free not restricted. So I explored possibilities of hair as a form and the relationship between that and self-identity.
